Course commences every month.

*The School will arrange for the next available course commencement. Kindly contact our school for the actual course commencement date. Classes can commence with a minimum of 1 student, subjected to availability of classrooms.

In the event if the course cannot commence due to unforeseen circumstances, we will inform you within 3 working days upon knowledge of any of the following:

(i) It does not commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date

(ii) It terminates the Course before the Course Commencement Date

(iii) It does not complete the Course by the Course Completion Date

(iv) It terminates the Course before the Course Completion Date

(v) It has not ensured that the Students meets the course entry or matriculation requirement as set by the organisation stated in the Student Contract Schedule A within any stipulated timeline set by CPE; or

(vi) The Student’s Pass application is rejected by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

The Student should be informed in writing of alternative study arrangements (if any), and also be entitled to a refund of the entire Course Fees and Miscellaneous Fees already paid should the Student decide to withdraw, within seven (7) working days of the above notice.

Course participants should be at least 16 years old of age at date of class commencement with an Elementary Pass in English or Mandarin.

Students are required to meet the following criteria in order to graduate and obtain their relevant certificates:

         1. Must complete all 3 modules with at least 75% (90% for International students) in attendance

         2. Able to perform 3 internal practical assessments: 

             • Shampoo, Massage and Blow Dry

             • Basic Colour (cover grey or virgin  application)

             • Basic Perm

         3. Must achieve at least 80% in terms of live model requirement i.e complete 57 out of 71 Live Models

At the end of the course, you will be able to use the knowledge and skill learned to enter the industry as a Salon Assistant or you can choose to progress on to Diploma in Comprehensive Hairdressing.

Upon meeting all School Graduation requirements, you will be awarded the Certificate in Foundation Hairdressing by Kimage Hairdressing School.

A $500 discount is given to student who progress to our Diploma or Nitec Course within 1 month from Certificate in Foundation Hairdressing course graduation.

Tool kit fee refers to the complete set of tools that are needed to perform all the practical tasks in the course. Payable at point of purchase, which is the first day of class.

Example of Tool Kit Set – Combs, Rollers, Clips, School Apron etc.

Locker Rental $13/month (Incl 9% GST) or Trolley Rental $21/month (Incl 9% GST)

Rental fee applies to students who want to rent a locker or trolley in the school and use it as personal storage.

Rental fee is payable quarterly.

International students without valid passes must apply for 3 month student pass. For International Students on student pass, in the event that any of the following occurs, the school will inform ICA of the student’s attendance:

• Student has failed to attend classes for a continuous period of 7 days or more without any valid reason; or
• Student has not attended classes regularly, i.e. where the percentage of attendance is 90% or lower in any month of the course without any valid reason.
• Student’s studies in the school has been terminated.

Material Fees of $200 is compulsory for international students holding student passes. Material Fees cover costs of goods incurred by the students during their hands-on live model practical sessions throughout their course of study. Material fee is payable upon commencement of course.

Shampoo and Blow (Training Hours: 108 hours)

Learn how to perform all necessary consultation, using the appropriate communication skills to project a professional image, diagnose the hair and scalp to identify the correct shampoo and conditioning products to use, prepare the client appropriately for shampoo and conditioning service according to salon procedures and meeting all health and safety standards.

Hair Perming (Training Hours: 99 hours)

Student will be able to perm and neutralise hair by preparing themselves, the work area and their clients for the service, assessing the potential of the hair to achieve the desired look by identifying the influencing factors, carrying out the necessary tests prior to and during the service and recording the results. Practical training will enable the student to wind the hair with even tension, making sure all wound perm rods sit on their own base, monitor the development of the perming and neutralising processes, leave the hair free of perm lotion when the desired degree of curl is achieved, using water temperature and flow to suit client’s needs and finish up the service by providing suitable aftercare advice.

Hair Colouring (Training Hours: 153 hours)

Student will learn the knowledge in relation to the types of colouring products, influencing factors in choosing the appropriate products, the changes that the chemical bring about to hair and the strength and effects of hydrogen peroxide. The practical component will include application techniques and mixing techniques.

Before completion of the course, the following tasks will be internally assessed.

• Shampoo, Massage and Blow Dry
• Basic Colour (cover grey or virgin application)
• Basic Perm

Students are required to register for internal assessment and perform the above tasks on a live model. Students will be graded based on Objective achieved/not achieved.
