ITE Singapore was established as a post-secondary education institution in 1992 under the Ministry of Education. ITE is a principal provider of career and technical education and key developer of national occupational skills certification and standards to enhance Singapore’s workforce competitiveness. NITEC Courses are offered to students to be certified under the ITE NITEC Schemes.
In this course, you will learn haircutting and chemical techniques, to texturise and colour hair in line with the latest fashion trends. You will also learn to create glamorous upstyles for functions and events.
Duration: 720 hours
We offer various modes of study. You can refer to the following table for mode of study and its corresponding course duration.

*Practical sessions for chemical services such as rebonding, digital perm, highlighting, and bleaching, etc are only available from 10am-5pm.
The NITEC in Services – Hair Fashion & Design comprises of 6 compulsory modules.

While on the course, you will take part in practical session working on blocks (mannequin heads) and later on will begin supervised practice with live models in the Classic Practical Area, applying what you have learnt in a fully equipped salon-school environment. Theory lessons that come alongside are conducted in the Lecture room.
Upon completion of the course, you would have acquired knowledge and skills which are highly relevant to the industry as follows:

In the event if the course cannot commence due to unforeseen circumstances, we will inform you within 3 working days upon knowledge of any of the following:
(i) It does not commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date
(ii) It terminates the Course before the Course Commencement Date
(iii) It does not complete the Course by the Course Completion Date
(iv) It terminates the Course before the Course Completion Date
(v) It has not ensured that the Students meets the course entry or matriculation requirement as set by the organisation stated in the Student Contract Schedule A within any stipulated timeline set by CPE; or
(vi) The Student’s Pass application is rejected by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
The Student should be informed in writing of alternative study arrangements (if any), and also be entitled to a refund of the entire Course Fees and Miscellaneous Fees already paid should the Student decide to withdraw, within seven (7) working days of the above notice.
Students are required to meet the following criteria in order to be eligible to sit for the NITEC examinations:
At the end of the course, you will be able to use the knowledge and skill learned to enter the industry as a Junior Stylist.
Upon meeting all School Graduation requirements and passing the NITEC in Services – Hair Fashion & Design examination conducted by ITE, you will be awarded the NITEC in Services – Hair Fashion & Design by ITE. In addition, you will also receive the Kimage Hairdressing School Certificate upon passing the NITEC Examination.
$8502 (Incl 9% GST) – Course fee is eligible for SSG funding and/or PSEA claim.
NITEC Exam Fee of $1530 (Incl 9% GST) is payable upon commencement of the course.

International students without valid passes must apply for 6-months student pass. For International Students on student pass, in the event that any of the following occurs, the school will inform ICA of the student’s attendance.

Material Fees of $1200 is compulsory for international students holding student passes. Material Fees cover costs of goods incurred by the students during their hands-on live model practical sessions throughout their course of study.
Material fee is payable upon commencement of course.
This qualification will be externally verified with the following Grading System.
The award of full certification in NITEC in Services – Hair Fashion & Design is based on acquiring a minimum of 30 credits.
For each module, the score obtained from end-of-module assessment contributes to the final score.

* As a guide, Distinction grade is awarded up to the top 5% of the Technical Engineer Diploma, Higher Nitec and Nitec students who sat for the module (excludes attrited, deferred, debarred students and students absent from all assignment items) and obtained Grade ‘A’. The Distinction grade is not applicable to the On-the-job Training (OJT), Industry Attachment (IA) [except Clinical Practice I & II], and Life Skills modules, as well as other modules graded Pass/Fail or Satisfactory/ Unsatisfactory.
Our school runs the NITEC examination in June and December. International students, upon completion of their course and expiration of their student pass, will have to return to their home country and make arrangement to come to Singapore for their scheduled examination.

Examination results will be released 8 weeks from the last day of examination. Licensee candidates apply to ITE Customer Service Centre (CSC) to review exam results within 9 working days from the issue of Statement of Results. Upon application, candidates must pay a deposit of S$20 per module for review of exam results. Appellants will be informed the outcome of their appeal via Licensee. For candidates who are successful in their appeals, ITEES will issue the new Statement of Results and certificates to candidates and also refund deposit to appellants.
